Bubbleponics
Starter
Kit
from
Stealth
Hydroponics
is the best I've seen
for someone who is getting into hydroponics for the first time.
It's reasonably priced, it doesn't require much space, uses very little
electricity and generates almost no heat. Most importantly, it
comes with everything you need: CFL lights; reservoir; pots; growing
medium; drip irrigation pump and tubing; air pump, tubing and air
stone;
and plenty of nutrients. Just add water and you're ready to
go! The best of the hydroponic starter kits
and it's a bargain. Normal price of $229 and is often found
on sale for under $200! I would recommend the following tweaks to complement this well thought out hydroponics system: make sure you get the pro drainage kit and an extra power strip. I would also suggest going to Petco and picking up an aquarium air pump and 12" air stone--the extra oxygenation does wonders. I bought two plated five inch bolts and tie-wrapped them to the air stones to keep them from floating. |
![]() The dual spectrum Bubbleponics kit from Stealth Hydroponics is very well thought out and comes with everything you need to get started growing your own (except water and seeds or clones). Undoubtably, you could build your own system to closely resemble what Stealth Hydroponics has put together in this kit. But why bother. You'd have to deal with several different vendors as well as chase all over town buying components and at the end of the day, you're not going to save that much money and you're going to do a lot of extra work. You'll probably find yourself springing for a second unit as soon as you discover how easy the Bubbleponics system makes growing. With two systems going, you can have one in flowering mode, and the other in vegetation mode. This way you'll be able to create your own clones and basically become a self-perpetuating growing machine. There are dozens of advertised Hydroponic Starter Kits. This is the best of the lot. Stealth Hydroponics makes a full line of products, and they are adding to them daily. Their customer service is great as well. I did a lot of online research looking for an inexpensive, full featured, all-in-one hydroponics kit--this is the one I personally bought and use. |

One of the great things about this kit is that you get dual spectrum lights. Before you rush to place an order you need to determine where you are going to place your hydroponics system. Remember, it needs to be in a place that can be made totally dark, yet still provide lots of ventilation. At a minimum you're going to want a space that is 20" x 20" x 60"h. I strongly recommend you get one of Stealth Hydroponics grow tents. I like the 32" x 32" x 63"h one myself -- it gives the plants some room to spread out a bit. The other big advantage with the grow tent is that it comes with pipes to hang your lights from. Since you need to keep raising your grow lights as the plants get bigger, you need some easy way to accomplish this. What I do is loop the light cord over the pole then clamp in place with a clothespin. This kit is easy to setup in under 30 minutes -- add an additional 20 minutes if you're getting a grow tent. Every two weeks you spend 15 minutes draining the reservoir (which is why you want the pro drain kit accessory), and then refilling it with a fresh supply of nutrients. Stealth Hydroponics nutrients are as low maintenance to use as the rest of this fantastic kit. Each dose is pre-measured, just add the packet to some water and mix then pour it in the reservoir. Not only do you have the proper nutrient levels, but your pH levels will be automatically brought under control. Total cost for complete dual spectrum hydroponics system with four CFL bulbs, three reflectors, nutrients, water pump, mesh grow cups, growing medium, drain, air pump, air stone, grow tent, shipping, plus recommended additional components (air pump, two air stones, clothespins, plated bolts, tie wraps) will cost you roughly $500. If you have a suitable closet to replace the grow tent, you can bring in this all-in-one package for around $330. Based on pharmacy prices, you'll break even on the very first ounce you grow, or as soon as you harvest for the first time. After that, you pay practically nothing. |
